love and stuff

I love the fact that kindness girl is here in the good old RVA.  My two favorite bloggers live here.  Of course, Noah Scalin is the other.

I am sitting here watching Super Why with Jack.  I have the TV set for a reminder at 9 because the Fraggles are coming on.  Yay!  I am thinking about all of the kind things I have done lately.  It feels like a short list, but when I think about it, it really isn't.  I work with the disabled all day, and then I try to come home and try to be a good mother to kids that aren't even mine.

And here's the kicker:  every time I say that M and J aren't mine, I am preparing for the day that they will be able to be back with their mother.  It will be a relief, somewhat, but I do feel that these boys are mine; not by birth, but by love and caring.  I am trying to do the best that I can with them--they are both damaged by neglect.  This is the first real home that they have had; a room that they know isn't going anywhere, clothes that are always clean, food on the table, and plenty of kisses and hugs.  Brien and I are trying the best that we can, but things don't always work out :0).  Years of bad habits and lousy parenting have taken their toll on both.  Hopefully, with some love and kindness, they will grow up to be loving and kind.
